Available Positions

We accept rolling applications for our facilitator cadre and curriculum development. Our team strongly encourages candidates to apply at any point during the year. Applicants should expect up to two rounds of interviewing with our team. If the applicant is invited to join as a Facilitator or Curriculum Developer, they will be invited to participate in a paid, mandatory training. Completion of the training is required to fully join the facilitation and curriculum development teams.

College internship applications are accepted for the start of Fall semesters and open the summer before each Fall semester. Each internship offer is typically for the entire academic year, including both Fall and Spring semesters.

  • At Educate to Empower, our facilitators engage in powerful and meaningful anti-bias dialogue with K-12 students, educators, and family members involved in their school communities. Each facilitator delivers a customized agenda by our team based on the needs of the school(s) they work with— ranging from a single workshop to a breakout space in one of our large-scale conferences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Attend annual professional development sessions with Educate to Empower to ensure you are maintaining best practices and are familiar with our curriculum.

    • Facilitate anti-bias trainings, workshops, or breakout room spaces at your availability. We coordinate between facilitators and school clients to find dates and times that work for you. Trainings can take place during or after typical school hours.

    The Ideal Candidate Has:

    • A passion for social justice and education.

    • A proven history of facilitating trainings for adults and/or young people.

    • Excellent problem-solving, de-escalation, and community-growing skills.

    Compensation Transparency:

    • $750 to facilitate a 3-hour training.

    • $1,000 to facilitate a 6-hour training.

    • $30 per hour for any time spent in a professional development session or preparation session with Educate to Empower.

    • Travel expenses are reimbursed to get to any location in Upstate New York. Additionally, if overnight stay is needed, accommodations and meals are also reimbursed.

    Important Note: If a candidate is offered a position within the facilitator cadre following the interview process, they must complete an internal training process to ensure they are familiar with all training materials and procedures before working directly with schools.

  • At Educate to Empower, we strive to create timely and engaging resources. Our curriculum developers work on creating lesson plans or training activities for school workshops as well as our large-scale conferences.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work with Educate to Empower to identify topics that are needed within our K-12 anti-bias work and align with your professional background as well as topics that you are passionate about.

    • Create resources, including but not limited to, book recommendation lists, lesson plans, training activities, etc. on identity development and anti-bias development for various age-groups and audiences.

    The Ideal Candidate Has:

    • A passion for social justice and education.

    • Experience as an educator and/or within education spaces.

    • A proven history of creating identity-development and anti-bias development resources for adults and/or young people.

    • Excellent writing and research skills.

    Compensation Transparency:

    • $75 per hour for any resource created.

  • At Educate to Empower, we are extremely excited to work alongside college interns. We aim to create an internship experience that is customized to the professional goals of each intern we work with. Our goal is that each student joining our team leaves the experience feeling prepared for both their academic and professional lives.

    We see this internship as a continuation of our commitment to furthering the impact of education and supporting local students who are passionate about making a positive difference in their communities.

    This is a primarily remote position with minimal in-person support required for 1-3 client-facing conferences per year. Aside from conferences, interns will choose their own hours to work approximately 10 hours a week remotely that fall within typical 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM work hours.

    In order to be considered for the position, a prospective intern must be enrolled as a part-time or full-time student at a college or university within a program that has overlap with the content and services provided by Educate to Empower.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide support with marketing and social media efforts, such as building on existing social media strategy and content creation.

    • Assist with outreach to potential school clients, such as through email, phone, and mail.

    • Create original content for Educate to Empower's website that reflects your current major/program, such as curating book recommendation lists based on grade-level/anti-bias topic, crafting lesson plans, etc.

    • Work with Educate to Empower staff to implement conferences to audiences of approximately 200 attendees. This includes collaborating on event-planning leading up to the conferences and going in-person to help with set-up, check-in, etc.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    The Ideal Candidate Has:

    • A passion for social justice and education.

    • Prior experience with social media content creation, event-planning, and/or authoring educational materials for K-12 audiences.

    • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills.

    • The ability to work mostly independently after a period of on-boarding and training. Interns typically meet once or twice a week for a check-in with additional whenever needed.

    Compensation Transparency:

    • $15.50 per hour.

    • Educate to Empower will work with professors as requested by interns to count the internship experience towards college credit. Possible college credit is in addition to hourly compensation to the intern.
